Who doesn't love a good duet? After all, sometimes it really does take two to make a song go, right!

Through the years, the world's biggest music stars have pushed their egos aside and teamed up to produce some of the most memorable moments in music history. And we are forever thankful.

Duets make for great love songs too. So, from break ups to make ups, join us as we take a look back at some of the greatest romantic duets of all time - enjoy!

Sonny And Cher, I Got You Babe

This terrific tune is one of the most iconic duets ever recorded. Released in the summer of 1965, this song became a smash hit, sky rocketing to the top of the charts.

Sung by husband and wife duo Sonny and Cher, this heart-warming hymn became an instant anthem and defined a generation.

We defy you to listen to this song without feeling the urge to sing along!

The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl, Fairytale of New York

OK, so this one is probably more of a Christmas classic. But The Pogues and Kristy MacColl's wonderful drunken anthem about lost youth and broken dreams is also one of the greatest duets of all time.

This collaboration really does have it all: drama, dark humour and plenty of bittersweet sentiment to boot.

It's equal parts love song and tragedy, and all in all, it's everything a good duet should be.

The enduring popularity of this tune is a testament to its pure awesomeness too.

Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Islands In The Stream

This now iconic duet is one of the bestselling country records of all time. Written by the Bee Gees, the song was inspired by the Ernest Hemingway novel of the same name.

Parton and Rogers made for a truly memorable duo, and the undeniable chemistry between the two helped the song sail straight to the top of the charts.

Elton John and Kiki Dee, Don't Go Breaking My Heart

Elton John is the king of killer duets and this delightfully upbeat tune is no exception. Bags of fun, this fast-paced song is one everyone loves to sing along to.

The only downside is it's liable to get stuck in your head!

Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, Endless Love

This classic tune is a little cheesy.... OK so it's very cheesy. And as far as guilty pleasures go, it's definitely up there. But we still love it anyway!

The controlled yet powerful performances by Richie and his partner Ross made it the kind of song that can touch even the hardest of hearts. And we challenge anyone not to get a little misty eyed over this ballad.

Upon its release in 1981, Endless Love topped The Billboard Hot 100 for two months solid, and has since spawned numerous covers, though none can beat the magic of the original.

So there we have it! Some of the best duets ever recorded. We're sure you'll be singing along to these tunes for the rest of the day!
